VACANCIES - Community Digital Engagement Officers

Active Black Country is part of the national network of Active Partnerships.

We are principally funded by Sport England to work with local partners to create opportunities for people to be physically active, move more, and play sport.

We work with a diverse range of partners and manage several grant funding programmes and projects that aim to create opportunities for local people in the Black Country to be active.

About the role

To support the implementation of our programmes and projects, we are seeking to appoint two Community Digital Engagement Officers to support the ABC Digital Inclusion Lead – supporting community organisations to become confident and competent in using digital technology to make it easier for residents to access physical activity opportunities online.

This is a rewarding role that will suit someone who:

• Enjoys working with a range of partners
• Enjoys supporting and working with local black country residents and community organisations.
• Confident in applying strong digital knowhow and supporting communities with digital literacy
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Can prioritise and meet tight deadlines as required

The role will be based out of our offices in Halesowen operating on a hybrid basis with some home-based working incorporated.

Active Black Country encourages diversity to maximise achievements, good practice, innovation and impact, and we aim to ensure our organisation reflects the communities we aim to serve. We especially welcome applicants from under-represented or marginalised groups including, but not limited to, people from ethnically diverse communities and those with a disability or long-term health condition.

Please see the role description & person specification found in the supporting documents below.

To apply:

1. Please submit an up-to-date CV and an expression of interest explaining why you are interested in this role, detailing how you are a good candidate for this post and how you fulfil the person specification – we recommend that this is no longer than two pages.

2. The declaration form – however completion of the equalities section is not mandatory, this is requested for monitoring purposes in line with our commitment to equality and diversity.

3. Please submit your expression to enquiries@Activeblackcountry.co.uk

Closing date: 30 June 2025

We are looking to hold interviews for this role on 24 July 2025.

For an informal discussion on any aspect of the role please contact Lesley Hill, Director of Partnerships at Active Black Country. Email: lesley.hill@activeblackcountry.co.uk

We are always keen to work with applicants to make it easier for you to join the team. We can make adjustments where needed, perhaps due to a disability or sensory impairment or with digital access.
